Seed Cycling for Hormone Balance

One easy natural way to help balance your hormones!
PMS cramps, bloating, mood swings? Irregular periods, menopausal symptoms?
If any of this sounds like something you are experiencing – what if I told you there’s a natural way – through food- that might help ease these symptoms / issues? Let me explain!
Seed Cycling- is something I’ve been reading about recently and am currently trying myself- I will update this in a few months to let you know if it worked!
I’ve been researching it for a while and Its just food and these foods have many other health benefits and are packed with nutrients, so I think its worth a try! If nothing else, it will help me hit my fat macros!

So, what is seed cycling?
Basically, some seeds can assist the production of hormones which are important at different stages of your cycle – so taking the right seeds at the right time can help regulate your cycle and ease symptoms.
What seeds should I eat?
Pumpkin, Flax, Sunflower and sesame
How do they work?
The seeds contain ‘lignan’ which is a nutrient that has the ability to bind with excess hormones and help the body remove them from our system.
What do I take and when?
Phase 1: 1st day of period to ovulation (follicular phase) days 1-14 Eat pumpkin and flax seeds.
Phase 2 From ovulation to the first day of your next period (Luteal Phase) 14-28 Eat 1 teaspoon of sunflower and sesame seeds
How much do we need to eat? 1 table spoon of each seed (preferably organic, raw and ground)
If you don’t have a regular cycle- you can coordinate with the moons cycle (yes this sounds a bit out there but theres a reason behind that. But basically, start phase 1 -new moon to full moon) phase 2 full moon and back to the new moon
Fun fact- it’s believed that our cycle should be in synch with the moon as we should be at our most fertile when the moon is at its fullest – we are animals and out in nature we would be able to see and find our ‘mate’ easier!
So I’m a few days into month 1 & it can take a few months to see a difference, so I will keep you updated! If you have tried this or decide to- please comment to let me know your experiences!

SO ive been seed cycling for 2 months- I buy pre ground flax seeds to make life easier and have 2 spoons of this and 2 spoons of sunflower seeds as its more easy for me to make sure I stick to it this way.
SO what have I found? Well over my last 2 cycles- my dates have already started to adjust. At the start my cycle was flipped so I was ovulating around the the new moon- its already shifted and im now only 3 days off ovulating at the full moon. My cycle has also improved – I used to get several days of annoying spotting (accompanied by severe bloating) before my period would start so spanning over a week– now it starts properly day 1 and although my PMS symptoms have been bad- its its now only 1 day of severe stomach ache so im hoping with continued use my PMS itself will also improve, but so far a more regular cycle is a great improvement! i'll update again in another month!
